Introduction

In the 1898 collection, Conklin blends its time-tested, rich heritage with the artistic, unpredictable quality of cast resin. In Italian, “Misto” means “mixed” and serves as the name for this pen’s material. To produce each unique pen, Conklin carefully selects a palette of colors and blends them in a process that takes patience and attention to detail.

Each “Misto” pen exhibits a distinct identity shaped by the manufacturing process. The layers of colorful swirls might show translucency in some pens while others might be completely opaque. Although the pen could be called “Orange,” blue shows up as the predominant color. One thing is for certain, no two Misto pens look alike.

To add an elegant, decorative flair to each pen, Conklin accents the colorful Misto resin with a vintage-style cap ring that has the collection name “1898” front and center. The Conklin signature rocker pocket clip completes the look. The “Purple” and “Orange” Misto pen designs are complemented with rose gold trim while the “Green” pen has polished chrome trims.

As is typical of other Conklin rollerball pens, the 1898 collection writes with a smooth, free-flowing ink rollerball cartridge, which is compatible with the international G2 refill.

The Green “Misto” material contains a wide-ranging palette of greens, blue, amber, white, and pink swirls throughout the resin.
